Organic produce

One step further down the track of environmental friendly fruit growing is the organic category.

The growers who choose to go this direction are carefully monitored by BIO-GRO New Zealand to make sure the fruit is grown, packed and handled according strict norms. BIO-GRO New Zealand certifies only fruit that meets these norms in two different categories

Conversion to organic

Conversion

The orchards that are between 12 and 36 months successfully under supervision of BIO-GRO New Zealand get a certification for fruit in conversion to organic growing.

On arrival both categories of organic fruit are checked by a European control organisation to make sure all requirements are met. Samples of fruit are taken at random for residue testing and certification, labels, etc are checked as well.

The organic segment is fast growing and the number of growers stepping in is increasing. This gives us a broad pallet of varieties going from traditional varieties such as Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Cox Orange Pippin, and Fiesta but also newer varieties such as Jazz TM, Fuji, Royal Gala, Braeburn ,Pink Lady™ ,and Pacific Rose™ are part of the organic assortment.
